The goal of the UST Center for Pre-Collegiate Engineering Education

is to prepare and support educators to teach P-12 students about engineering and, in turn,

build more prepared, diverse, and creative generations of engineers and engineering educators.

 Activities:

  • Engineering Certificate for in-service P-12 Teachers (coming in early 2010)

  • Engineering workshops for teachers

  • P-12 Engineering Education Research

Past Activities:

"What is Engineering?" workshop for thirty-one P-12 teachers and administrators (Spring 2009)

"What is Engineering?" continuing education workshop for Farnsworth/Cleveland Aerospace school (Spring 2009)

"Lessons I've Learned about Creativity" lecture for the NSF-funded "IDEA Cooperative" board (Spring 2008)

"What is Engineering?" continuing education workshop for Farnsworth/Cleveland Aerospace school (Fall 2008)

"Engineering Design 101" student workshops at Johnson High School (Fall 2008)

"Introduction to Engineering Design" workshop for Science Museum of Minnesota and Saint Paul Public School System staff (Fall 2007)
