SPECIFIC OBJECTIVES

  1. To engage stakeholders from different sectors of the legal field and civil society in an innovative, interactive experience of consensus building in which they learn to collectively explore an issue and examine its possible solutions from different perspectives;
  1. To teach stakeholders alternative methods of dispute resolution to demonstrate that they can more effectively participate in both the private and the public spheres;
  1. To give participants a new perspective on innovative ideas, starting with a concept developed in the different historical, cultural, and socioeconomic reality of the United States;
  1. To build knowledge by exploring indigenous dispute resolution methods, combining ideas, and expanding innovative options for solutions to identified local issues;
  1. To transfer skills that allow participants to value dissent as a rich resource for analysis and generation of options, leading to a more inclusive mindset which, in turn, can open the door to more widespread participation.
