We will explore visual literacy, emphasizing how we use visual phenomena to communicate. The message will be as important as the medium. We’ll review theories of visual communication and delve into how visual messages are made.

COJO 256: Design Concepts

In COJO 256, our goal is to provide you with the basic design elements and principles. Our emphasis is on typography, grid-based architecture and color.

COJO 258: Writing & Designing for the Web

COJO 258 is about techniques and strategies for publishing information on the World Wide Web. Techniques include HTML and CSS to achieve the effects you want.

COJO 350: Magazine Writing

Our goal is to learn a process for writing and selling nonfiction magazine articles. We will learn a process developing ideas, researching and writing for magazines.
