Places to buy in bulk

Throughout Minnesota, there are several places where consumers can purchase fair trade coffee in bulk quantities to brew at home.

Peace Coffee

Peace Coffee is a
local roaster and
distributor of fair
trade coffee.

Peace Coffee, located in Minneapolis, is a 100 percent fair trade, organic, shade-grown coffee roaster and distributor that was established in 1996. The company purchases coffee directly from coffee cooperatives in Guatemala, Mexico, Colombia, Ethiopia and Sumatra. Company employees visit these cooperatives to create a relationship between the roaster and the farmer. Additionally, Peace Coffee is committed to the environment. Its offices are located in a “green,” environmentally-friendly commercial building and has been using bicycle-powered delivery since 1999. Most of the coffee roasted at Peace Coffee goes to Minnesota grocery stores and coffee shops.

Providence Coffee

Providence Coffee offers fair trade certified, USDA approved organic coffee products for fund-raising groups and private label use. Groups can directly participate in the movement by having their own fair trade sanctioned coffee, tea and hot cocoa. Providence Coffee, located in Faribault, specializes in parish-based fund-raisers and has a private-label program that allows consumers to create their own coffee brands.

Coffee and Tea Ltd.

Coffee and Tea Ltd. is a locally-owned, family-operated roaster that has been in business since the 1970s. The company offers more than 15 fair trade coffee blends from around the world. Coffee Tea and Ltd. is located in Minneapolis and the on the first floor of Mall of America in Sears.
