In October, fashion designers and fashion lovers flooded the streets of Paris for the city's annual Spring Fashion Week. Top designers for Yves Saint Laurent Rive Gauche, Chanel, Celine, and Valentino showcased an impressive array of flirty, flashy clothes for spring 2004. Polka dots and dots of all kinds were used by Jean-Charles de Castelbajac, Paco Rabanne and others to accent feminine cuts and curves.

Milan's catwalks showcased luxurious, ready-to-wear fashions during the city's spring fashion week this fall. Floral and graphic prints abounded, especially in the designs of Karl Lagerfeld and Louis Vuitton. With the help of American designer Marc Jacobs, Vuitton created the working-wear polka dot ensemble shown above. Vuitton's summer collection also included black and white polka dot bikinis. Polka dots and other geometric patterns helped Chanel designer Lagerfeld achieve an edgy, pretty look on the runway.

New York fashion is known the world over as chic, sleek, and outrageous. In September 2002, New York designers lived up to that reputation, filling fashion week runways with beautiful, innovative creations. Marc Jacobs, a fashion week favorite, presented a 1950s-inspired line complete with polka dot accessories. Donna Karan's DNKY line also included vintage polka dot designs.
