Team Moldova Update

Buna ziua!

We are wrapping up our research this week and getting ready to return to the USA.

Our work on the various projects has been very successful although we have had to put in many hours throughout the past weekend and during this week in order to finish on time.

We spent the past weekend working and touring various departments at the TUM. The Mechanical Engineering Department was particularly interesting.

This week we will also have the opportunity to visit one of the major wine makers in Moldova. This should prove to be very interesting. If time permits before we return, we would also like to visit several museums and the WW-II memorial.

We finished our Romanian language lessons this week. Considering everything we have done, this probably has been our most important action for several reasons. First, Americans are learning Romanian which is very contrary to the popular opinion that natives have regarding Americans. Secondly, about 25% of the Moldavian population refuses to learn Romanian which further impresses our hosts since we are again, Americans.

Thursday evening we will be having our going away celebration dinner at the home of Dr. Ion (John) Sobor. This is a very gracious and wonderful gift on his part.

See you soon!

La revedere!
