Quizzes will be averaged again at the end of the semester and that average will
constitute the final grade. The lowest quiz will be dropped before final averaging.
There will be no mid-term nor final examination.
Learning a new language:
Learning a new language can be an exciting and fun experience. The study techniques
in language learning though are ratherdifferent than many subjects you have
had in the past. Theinstructor will assist you in learning an effective style
forthis kind of study. An important first step is to study on adaily basis rather
than attempting to concentrate study beforetests. It is for that reason that
this class will have dailyquizzes rather than large periodic tests. Another
importanttechnique is (strange as it may sound): relax and enjoy! Languagelearning
involves developing natural linguistic responses to theworld around us, developing
such responses is best accomplished in a relaxed environment. When you see each
other outside of class, enjoy using a new means of communication. This makes
thelearning experience more real and fun and assists you in makingthe language
a natural part of yourself.
