Heidi Klum (1973 - )
One of the world’s leading models, Heidi Klum, was born in Bergisch Gladbach,
Germany on June 1, 1973. At the urging of a friend she entered a modeling contest
in 1991. Out of 25, 000 contestants she was chosen the winner on April 29, 1992
and given her first modeling contract. She went on to a large number of highly
paid modeling positions internationally. Her first international success was
as a model on the cover of the Sports Illustrated swimsuit edition
in 1998. In 2008, with an income of 14 million dollars, Forbs Magazine
listed her as the world’s second highest earning model. She has appeared
in several movies and U.S. television shows. She has been the spokesperson for
a number of corporations including McDonald’s, Birkenstock, SPAR, Henkel,
Otto-Versand, Jordache and Volkswagen. She has resided in the United States
since 1993.
She was married briefly to Ric Pipino and later to the British singer, Seal
(Henry Olusegun Olumide Adeola Samuel). Ms. Klum is the mother of three children.
