Birth of Felix Klein in Düsseldorf, Germany. Klein was a professor of mathematics at the University of Erlangen. There he developed the principles of his "Erlanger Program", a system of geometry.
April 25, 1900
Birth of the Austrian physicist, Wolfgang Pauli, in Vienna. Pauli was awarded the Nobel Prize in 1945 for the development of the Pauli exclusion principle.
April 25, 1907
Birth of Herbert Matter in Engelberg, Switzerland. Matter established an international reputation in the thirties through his travel posters for the Swiss national tourist office. His pioneering work with photomontage drew the widespread interest in his work. In 1936 he immigrated to the U.S. where he worked with Harper's Bazaar and Vogue. He taught graphic arts and photography at Yale University from 1952-1976.

The Nazi government passes a law against the overcrowding of schools and universities. The effect will be to restrict Jewish attendance.

Death of rudolf Stammler in Wernigerode, Germany. Stammler was a legal philosopher who taught at the universities of Marburg, Giessen, Halle and Berlin. One of his great contributions was to establish the idea that the law goes beyond simply regulation and, in fact, demands the fulfillment of justice. His most significant work is Die Lehre von dem richtigen Rechte (1902).
