A survey of major German, Austrian and Swiss contributions to the development of world culture. The course offers a survey of German history from the early conflicts with Rome through the present and information on some outstanding figures and events in German history in a variety of fields including literature, art, science, politics, economics, business and society. Prerequisites: This course will be offered entirely on line. There will be no campus meetings. Students must have access to the World Wide Web and e-mail.
