Event for all of St. Thomas: Halloween Party. We'll show a movie on a big screen next to the observatory and serve candy, popcorn, hot chocolate, and cider. Take a tour of the robotic telescope and look through several smaller telescopes. Last year we had 100 attendees!

In case of clouds, we'll postpone. Keep posted for updates.

Private event for students of Cretin-Derham: Astronomy presentation followed by a tour of the observatory and use of several smaller telescopes.


10/18/17 8:00 - 10:00 pm

St. Thomas event: Academic Success Week. Students who attend Dr. Tom Hickson's talk in the 3M Auditorium are welcome to join us afterward at the Observatory. We'll give tours of the large telescope and set up several small telescopes for you to look through.


10/6/17 9:00 - 11:00 pm

Event for families of St. Thomas students: Family Weekend. Join us for an evening of astronomy. This event will begin with a short presentation on an exciting astronomy topic followed by a tour of our state of the art observatory. Special viewing through our fleet of small telescopes. Enjoy popcorn and hot chocolate with staff and students.

 

Backup plan: If the sky is cloudy but not rainy, we'll still meet at the observatory for a talk, a movie, and tours of the big telescope. If it rains, we'll have the talk and movie in the 3M Auditorium in Owens Science Hall at 9pm.
