Note: You can buy Internet Cryptography used at Amazon at a much lower price, but you must order early. If it doesn't arrive in time for class, you will have to buy a bookstore copy, too!

Course Summary

The course will introduce the concepts and processes of information security. We will start with a single computer system and expand the scope to encompass the LAN, distributed environments, and the Internet. Essential concepts include trust perimeters, access controls, and basic cryptography.

Prerequisites

QMCS 230.

MATH 128 or MATH 220.

Waivers will be considered by the instructor for qualified students on a case by case basis.
